LOL, That’s awesome! Maybe I should have done some research before replying to your post. Well, this Charleston Native did enjoy reading through your bolg and is now following. GO COCKS!
This is great, Sisters! I’m glad I don’t have chickens–discouraging literature sounds better to me! God bless you, Happy Friday! Love, sis Caddo
Maybe the chickens aren’t laying–and he’s just reading a lot of sad/bad literature (not yours and mine, of course!!). Or maybe he’s just generally bummed. By the way, last night I was practicing “deleting” unnecessary sentences from my manuscript–and laughing at myself, thinking I was cutting out SO MUCH–hah! probably 4 or 5 sentences out of a couple hours’ work….argghh. God bless you!
Hi Sisters! I’m back to tell you that I just revisited your post about the Tomato Timer–I had bought the timer “way back when” (it’s not a tomato, but it IS red and white!), and I dug it out today, with plans to use your advice to help keep me focused and disciplined–and hopefully find a solution to the scheduling issue. I just can’t get over how the Lord has had His hands on this project of mine, long before I got serious about reviving it–and I’ll forever be indebted to y’all for your continuing practical and spiritual encouragement; truly you are “writing angels”! love, sis Caddo
So glad the timer is working. It works for other projects as well – cleaning out a closet, etc.
Happy Writing!
Maybe Hope Clark knows? Ha!
I think the answer depends on if he was writing or reading.
If writing, I’d say ordering thoughts is as difficult as catching chickens.
If reading, perhaps he referred to how fat chickens look until the feathers come off, and he’d been reading some disappointingly fluffy work?
Or maybe he thought of how a chicken only gives eggs for a couple of years and then you still have the chicken to deal with, just like a book that holds no lingering delights?
Now Ladies, don’t alienate a Gamecock from South Carolina… LOL
Sorry, we’re both Clemson grads! Go Tigers.

We’re still trying to figure out why literature and chickens are discouraging to E. B. White. Any ideas?

Awww, what’s wrong with chickens, E.B?
Did he graduate Clemson?
He wanted to but decided on Cornell
