Prayer for the Work Day
Almighty God, thank Thee for the job of this day.
May we find gladness in all its toil and difficulty,
its pleasure and success,
and even in its failure and sorrow.
We would look always away from ourselves,
and behold the glory and the need of the world
that we may have the will and the strength to bring
the gift of gladness to others;
that with them we stand to bear
the burden and heat of the day
and offer Thee the praise of work well done.
Amen.
–Bishop Charles Lewis Slattery (1867-1930)

Thanks for resurrecting this prayer from Bishop Slattery. I begin my work week tomorrow and these are just the words to I needed to head out in Him.
Good, hope it’s a productive week for you.
You always bless us! Thank you and God bless the work of your hands and hearts!
Thank you!
Excellent, Sisters! By the way I mailed you a note–hope you get it this week! God bless you Big–love, sis Caddo
Have a great day sis Caddo!
Excellent Post. Let me mention a small version below:::
Inspirational Poem by Mahakavi Kalidas – A Renowned Classical Sanskrit writer, widely regarded as the greatest poet and dramatist in the Sanskrit language.
“Look to this day: For it is life, the very life of life.
In its brief course Lie all the verities and realities of your existence.
The bliss of growth, The glory of action,
The splendor of achievement Are but experiences of time.
For yesterday is but a dream And tomorrow is only a vision;
And today well-lived, makes Yesterday a dream of happiness
And every tomorrow a vision of hope. Look well therefore to this day;
Such is the salutation to the ever-new dawn!”
ALL THE BEST.
