Yes, there are many good reasons many actually consider Tozer a modern day prophet … because with much conviction he called us out of our simple religious lifestyle and into a committed relationship with Christ Jesus, frequently revealing the vast difference between the two.   2. This is a wonderful book. The prayer at the end of The Speaking Voice chapter: Lord, teach me to listen. The times are noisy and my ears are weary with the thousand raucous sounds which continuously assault them … when the sounds of earth die away and the only sound will be the music of Thy speaking Voice.” I also love Tozer’s “The Knowledge of the Holy.” God used both of these books to increase my understanding of and love for Him. They were giveaways at a church library clean-out, so I have first editions of each!
