“Every time you feel in God’s creatures something pleasing and attractive, do not let your attention be arrested by them alone, but, passing them by, transfer your thought to God and say: “Oh my God, if thy creations are so full of beauty, delight and joy, how infinitely more full of beauty, delight and joy art Thou, Thyself, Creator of all!” Nicodemus of the Holy Mountain
I’m still basking in the glow of nature from my trip to Glacier Bay. Just being in a place of beauty refreshes the soul. Most amazing for me is the reminder of the diversity of the creatures in the world. The beauty, delight and joy of creation shows me the character of the Creator.
Where have you found beauty, delight and joy?
Betsy
The whole earth is full of His glory. Isaiah 6:3

I really love the pictures and especially the thought of transfering the wonder of creation to our Creator. Not just the rocks cry out! How beautiful our God!
Yes! Thanks for your comments.
Truly nothing like nature to refresh and recharge and to gain perspective on God’s bigness, His care and attention for all that He has made. I did a post around this quote by John O’Donohue that your might like to view . . . “Nature is the first scripture . . . to be out in nature is to be near God.” I have included the link below. Blessings, dear Sisters.

Thanks so much for sharing the link. I love your pictures and the words fit beautifully.
I find beauty and joy each morning in the unexpected new wildflower blooms in the roadside grasses! I find beauty and joy in the cloud formations and constantly changing colors at sunset! Praise Be to God!
Yes, Traveling is great but God’s beauty is all around us at home too. (If we pay attention!) Thanks, always love to see your penguins pop up.
I never get tired of looking at the sky, especially in the early evening–and thinking about God painting similar, but different, colors and shapes every day. Wow. God bless you Sisters.
The sky is always above us and different every day. We don’t have to go far to see the beauty of creation, do we? Thanks, Caddo How’s your novel coming?
Oh, you Sisters–aren’t you something! I didn’t expect you’d remember about my novel! How’s this: I THINK about it a LOT, but I spend my days/nights writing more poetry for the blog. Don’t give up on me–keep praying! Thank you, and God bless–love, sis Caddo
The natural world is a source of great delight, as is the inner world which reflects it. What wonderful pictures!
The main reason we love vacations at my house is to see something spectacular that God made together as a family. Three years ago, we prayed to see a moose. We saw him! Two years ago, we prayed to see a bear. We got a grizzly from a safe distance. This past June, we marveled at the beautiful CA coastline. I knew it wasn’t the season for whales in that area. Is that why I didn’t pray to see them? We saw them! Spotted from the car and we pulled over and marveled at Him.
How blessed your family is to have that heavenly perspective of nature! A double blessing to be able to share it.
God’s beauty is all around, in big places and small thing (and the opposite.). We always find beauty in nature when we go to the Big Horn Mountains of Wyoming for vacation. It’s a joy to see and now that I have a blog, I can share the beauty, too. What a blessing and what fun!!
Thanks, I bet you have some great pictures. It is a blessing to have an outlet to share some of the great things that we experience.
I do. Feel free to stop by and look at them any time. I so appreciate your God-centered blog.
Took a visit over to your blog and I love the pictures of the water lilies and the quotes. Beauty Delight and Joy.
The lilies came out very Monet-ish, which was fun. I was actually carrying my iPad 3 so I could use the amazing camera. Just wish they made a real camera that good, but wafer thin and small!
Thanks for stopping by and I’m glad you enjoyed the pictures.
You may find this a bit silly compared to Glacier Bay, but I have alway, always delighted in being able to make a rainbow with the fine-spray adjustment of a hose nozzle. I love rainbows. Once saw a triple. And often they appear with a golden aura inside the bow. I guess I just think of heaven more when I see one.
We don’t have to go far away to see and appreciate the beauty of creation. It’s right at the end of our water hose! I think the secret is being aware. It’s easier to see the beauty when we travel to some wonderful place. But we can miss God right in our own homes and neighborhoods. Thanks for the reminder.
