Let me tell you what true surrender is. It is simply resting in the love of God as a little baby rests in its mother’s arms.
Fenelon, Let Go
***
My heart is not proud, O Lord
my eyes are not haughty
I do not concern myself with great matters
or things too wonderful for me.
But I have stilled and quieted my soul like a weaned child with its mother.
Like a weaned child is my soul within me.
Psalm 131: 1-2
***
Lord,
Let me rest today in your love like a baby rests in his mother’s arms:
Trusting completely
Supported and secure
Sure of your goodness
Let me release the things that keep me from your peace:
Anxiety
Pride
My will
Help me to carry the feeling of love and surrender through my day.
Amen
What difference would it make in your day if you could carry the feeling of love and surrender into your circumstances? I am praying for this today.
Betsy
You’re on my favorite word today, Surrender! Beautiful prayer and post. Thanks for sharing!
Surrender is a word I’m reflecting on too. Simple things can be so hard. Thanks for your comment. B
Thank you Betsy, for reminding me this morning of this life changing truth.
Thanks Lynna. I need to be reminded often myself. B
What a wonderful prayer – thank you
Thanks, Jenny. Appreciate you taking time to comment.
Surrender–the lifelong lesson that once experienced makes you hunger for that peace again. But the world rushes in, and we go through the practice once more of releasing tight fists to the Lord, the things we can’t control. Really, not so simple. Lord, help.
Surrender is a simple concept – but for me it’s a constant challenge. As soon as I release something to God I try to take it back. I have “tight fists” too. “A lifelong lesson for sure.
Yes. And today is another day to surrender. Sigh.
Joining you in that fervent prayer, Sisters! God bless you abundantly–love, sis Caddo
Thanks Caddo, I hope the novel is going well!
Amen!
Resting in God’s arms right along with you, dear ladies!
Every day is a new day a day of renewed strength it does take practice to ask GOD for help each day. I enjoyed your post today.
