Let me tell you what true surrender is.  It is simply resting in the love of God as a little baby rests in its mother’s arms.

Fenelon,  Let Go

***

My heart is not proud, O Lord

my eyes are not haughty

I do not concern myself with great matters

or things too wonderful for me.

But I have stilled and quieted my soul like a weaned child with its mother.

Like a weaned child is my soul within me.

Psalm 131: 1-2

***

Lord,

Let me rest today in your love like a baby rests in his mother’s arms:

Trusting completely

Supported and secure

Sure of your goodness

Let me release the things that keep me from your peace:

Anxiety

Pride

My will

Help me to carry the feeling of love and surrender through my day.

Amen

What difference would it make in your day if you could carry the feeling of love and surrender into your circumstances?  I am praying for this today.

  1. Surrender–the lifelong lesson that once experienced makes you hunger for that peace again. But the world rushes in, and we go through the practice once more of releasing tight fists to the Lord, the things we can’t control. Really, not so simple. Lord, help.
