I have never known a writer who was not also a reader.  My sister and I have always loved books.  Our first library was the book mobile, a truck packed with books that came through our neighborhood once a week.  The most memorable library growing up in West Virginia was in the basement of the fire station.

About Writing Sisters

The Writing Sisters (Betsy Duffey and Laurie Myers) have been writing for children for over twenty years, publishing more than thirty-five books with a variety of companies. They write primarily chapter books, and have published both individually and together with their mother, Newbery winner Betsy Byars.

  1. ALL the elders in my home growing up read to me, whether living there or just visiting. We also had a bookmobile that came once a month, until I was in late junior high or early high school, when our town finally got its own library! There was not a single adult of my acquaintance who did not read to us. Such a blessing!
